Posta Uganda buses resume operations today – parliament still investigating corruption in the department

Post Bus services will resume operations today, December 17,2024 as part of the Posta Uganda Post Bus Service.

Executive Director James Arinaitwe made the remarks to a special committee set up by parliament to review the use of funds in Posta Uganda after finding that they are not being used properly but the government is spending too much money.

Arinaitwe told the committee that they have decided to restore the service of the buses in order to increase the revenue of the department and restore the usefulness of the buses.

Alinaitwe also told the committee that they need the Ministry of Lands to ensure that every land title issued has a postal box that will reduce land theft in the country.

Committee chairperson and Napak district MP Faith Nakut said posta Uganda has improved based on the latest survey, compared to reports of violence.

The violence that has been mentioned includes bias in the allocation of jobs, the debt owed to the agency which has been excessive and now they have reduced it and others.
