FIRE DESTROYS PROPERTY IN A VILLAGE IN NABIRATUK DISTRICT

Unknown value of property has been destroyed in a fire that engulfed a house at Lokwamoru village in Lorengedwat sub county in Nabiratuk district in Karamoja.

The fire, which broke out at 7.30pm, destroyed Food and other items including bottles, blankets and many other household items.

Irene Nakasiita, communications officer at the Uganda Red Cross, said they had not yet received the exact amount of damage, although they were still doing their best to get it.

More than 200 people have been affected by the fire, and this is the fourth time, that different parts of Karamoja have been engulfed in fire and destroyed houses.

The latest fires were in Naduget in Moroto district and Lopei in Napak district.
