CENSUS RESULTS 2024-MORE THAN 1.5 PERCENT OF UGANDA ARE HOMELESS

The Uganda Bureau of Statistics, (UBOS), has released the final report showing the 2024 census results, with more than 1.5 million Ugandans homeless.

The report shows that there are 10, 698,913 households in Uganda, and each household has at least 4 to 5 people in total.

44, 387,526 million people have formal housing, while another 1,517,891 people do not have formal housing.

The report later further emphasized that the population of Uganda is mainly children under the age of 18, at 22,750,701 million.

Youth between the ages of 18-30, are 10, 76 9,151 million.

The working age population from 31 to 59 years, is 12,385,565 million, combined with the working youth population is 23,154,714 million.

There are 12 ,181,200 women or girls in the fertile age group between 15 and 49 years.

The population of Uganda has declined at an annual rate of growth, from 3 percent to 2.9% over the past 10 years.

There are 4,10 9,773 million children in pre-primary between the ages of 3 to 5 in Uganda.

Primary enrollment between the ages of 6 to 12 is 8, 57 1,805 million and secondary enrollment between the ages of 13 to 18 is 6, 55 7,3

The report further emphasized that Catholics are the largest with 16, 612,537 million while Christians in the Church of Uganda are 13, 311,801 million, Lutherans are third with a total of 6, 543,195 million, followed by Muslims with a total of 6,501,317 million.

There are 911,153 seventh day Adventists, 60,150 Orthodox, 56,332 Traditional faith, 46,147 Jehovah’s Witnesses and 85,559 non-believers 704,334 belong to various official religions, including Hinduism and others.

The report shows that of the more than 45,900,000 Ugandans over the age of 10, 23 million, 18 1,629 were educated.

4, 571,698 million studied beyond secondary level.

8, 926,219 million finished primary.

1,710,492 people did not attend primary school.
