We will undress KCCA’s Kisaka if our Sunday Market isn’t reinstated  – Kampala street vendors vow!

Kampala street vendors under their umbrella, Kampala Luwum Street Youth Vendors and Hawkers Initiative and Sacco have warned to attack Kampala capital city authority offices at city Hall, Including undressing the council’s head, Dr. Dorothy Kisaka!

Led by Kizito Kenneth, he claims that KCCA enforcement teams are always targeting city vendors extorting money from them, those hesitating are beaten almost to death.

According to Kizito, Kampala Sunday Market was a backbone to many street vendors as most of them were not selling goods on normal days on streets but they could wait for Sunday to get customers.

Kizito adds that Sunday Market was invented by former KCCA Director, Ms. Jennifer Musisi Ssemakula with an aim of helping the ordinary Ugandans, especially those that can’t afford to pay millions of shillings in renting Kampala shops.

Kizito says that they would have resorted to the so called Ggwanda Smart City Market, but they say that they can’t work in such market that’s headed by a one Richard Lubega who’s believed to be a land blocker than a vendor who has his personal interests including using street vendors to get money from the head of state, H.E. Yoweri Museveni.
